Successful opening of Galerija Bakar

After only 15 months of construction, the shopping centre “Galerija Bakar” in Kukuljanovo near Rijeka was ceremoniously opened.
The invitation of DI Andreas Messner (MID Bau GmbH) and Mag. Neven Marić (MID Bau Nekretnine d.o.o.) was accepted by, among others, the Mayor of Bakar Tomislav Klarić and the Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar Vojko Braut. During the opening ceremony, donations amounting to 13,000 euros were handed over to charitable associations in the region.
For the realisation of the 35 million EUR project, an existing logistics hall was rebuilt and partially demolished. The connection of the existing reinforced concrete structure with the newly built shopping row required a lot of effort, but in total it saves resources and thus protects the environment.
On a sales area of about 15,000 m², 15 shops invite you to shop. In addition to the food retailer INTERSPAR, they include the furniture chain HARVEY NORMAN, MÜLLER, JYSK, ADMIRAL, ZOO CITY and HERVIS. Over 500 parking spaces are available to visitors at the site. A storage area of around 7,000 m² has been created in the basement.
A second construction phase with more than 5,000 m² is already being planned, as well as a branch of the fast food chain McDonald’s. The investment volume of the second phase amounts to an estimated 10 million EUR.
